As of this morning, when T3h AC discovered the existence of this WWI weapon, the trench spike is also the weapon of the lightning Pilots (associates of Twygal and her twin brother Twyguy). The weapon is older, and definitely used, belonging most famously to an ancestor who was also a Pilot--but not lightning. Both lightning Pilots became Pilots in the first place hoping to live up to their respective ancestor's legacy... but so far seem to have failed. It is said that when said ancestors held their weapons, the sphere at the end would light up with their insignia, but the current Pilots have never witnessed it and feel that they are disappointments if the weapons do not recognize them equal to their famous ancestors.
